Open Space Planning Intern (May 2011 – Oct. 2011)
Work includes analysis of Pittsburgh’s parks system with an emphasis on developing proposals for rehabilitation to community parks and parks in high-density low-income population areas. Analysis will be included as part of the overall proposal for open space in Pittsburgh’s first comprehensive city plan.

Work included developing press packages for architecture firms to promote their past work and future projects, as well as writing and editing requests for proposals to prospective clients.  Internship also included reformatting of web content and webpage layout and streamlining website user interface.

Architecture Explorations Saturday Sequence – Pittsburgh, PA

Teaching Assistant – Grades 4,5 (Jan. 2010 – March 2010)
Work includes helping 4th and 5th grade students examine how architecture affects the design of cities and more importantly, communities. Assistants guide student exploration through three-dimensional representation and conceptual understanding.

Habitat for Humanity – Long Branch, NJ Chapter

Volunteer Crew Leader (Sept. 2004 – June 2007)
Work included putting up sheathing, Tyvek wrap, hanging sheetrock, and laying tile. The practical skills of learning to build and the teamwork involved in the building process have been invaluable experiences.

Studies included how the population places stress on the environment (i.e. natural resources); how long the earth can provide for humans at the current rate of abuse; whether human happiness and environmental health are mutually exclusive or can be realized concurrently.

Responsibilities included overseeing the production of the newspaper, including overseeing layout with individual page editors, editing and writing articles, and raising advertisement revenues from local businesses.
